6 Air Purification Technologies
1. Anti Bacterial
Pre-Filter
This is the first filter that the air passes through. This filter destroys bacteria and helps
to prevent them from reproducing and recirculating into the air. It also preserves the life of the other filters so that more
pores in the HEPA/activated carbon air filter can remain available to trap the harder to remove pollutants.
2. Activated Carbon Filter
This is the next filter in line and is the best type of filter for trapping chemicals, gases,
odours and cigarette smoke. According to the Penn State Department of Aerobiologicalresearchers carbon filters
serve to remove odours, volatile organic compounds (VOC's) and chemicals that other types of filters cannot.
3. HEPA Filter
After the air has moved past the pre-filter and the activated carbon filter which remove the
larger particles, bacteria, chemicals odours etc. it reaches the HEPA filter. This filter removes 99.97% of particles
at 0.3 microns in size that pass through the filter, this is verified through strict test procedures. The HEPA filter is considered
to be the most effective type of air filter for solid particles such as dust, allergens, pollens, pet dander, mould spores
ragweed, dust mites etc.
4. Germicidal UV Lamp
The lamp is positioned behind the HEPA air filter and it destroys micro-organisms such as viruses and some bacteria
that cannot be captured by the filters. UV light is scietifically proven to destroy viruses, germs, bacteria, fungi (including
mould) etc. and has been used by the medical profession to sanitise rooms and equipment to prevent the spread of illness and
disease. They are also recommended by Centres for Disease Control for their ability to destroy biological pollutants.
Due to its position behind the HEPA air filter it effectively sanitizes this filter as well as the air.
5. Sanitiser
The ozone sanitiser is a powerful odour eliminator and is located just above the UV light. If it is
turned on it will ozonate the air as it passes through the purifier as well as the air in the room. The ozone sanitiser
can be set for low, medium or high output but by default it is disabled.
6. Air Ioniser
The ioniser is located just inside the air outlet and circulates air-cleaning negative ions into the air.
According to the U.K. Department of Agriculture negative ions effectively remove particulates from the air such as
bacteria, smoke and allergens (mould and dust mites) and also according to the Journal of Hygieneit causes smaller
particles to conglomerate so it increases the effectiveness of the HEPA filter. The ioniser does not produce ozone as a by
product.
How It Works
1. Dirty air enters the air inlet.
2. High-Efficiency Filtration: Particles & pollutants are trapped by the 3-layer filter. The anti-bacterial
pre-filter (blue) destroys bacteria and traps the larger particles, lengthening the life of the other filters. The
activated carbon filter (dark gray) is the best type of air filter for trapping chemicals, gases, odors and cigarette
smoke. The True HEPA filter (white) is the most effective type of air filter at capturing dust/allergens.
3. Germicidal UV lamp (positioned behind the filters) is the most effective air purification method available
for destroying micro-organisms such as germs, viruses, bacteria and fungi (including mold).
4. The programmable sanitizer can be turned completely
off, or activated to help reduce or eliminate odors.
5.
Two powerful & quiet fans create strong air movement (for increased
air-cleaning performance), yet do not disturb your home or office with loud noise.
6. A safe and
effective ionizer circulates trillions of negative ions to neutralize floating pollutants throughout the room. Ionizers also
enhance filter performance. Plus, the NaturoPure ionizer creates virtually no ozone whatsoever.
7. The purified
air, along with negative ions, are accelerated into the air.
- Programmable ozone output. Ozone is not always
desired, or appropriate. Fortunately, the ozone can be completely disabled with the NaturoPure™ air purifier. It can
also be set to Medium or Low for moderate ozone levels, and to High to remove strong odours
- Air filter sterilization prevents micro-organisms from reproducing. A common
drawback with most air filters is that they are the perfect habitat for trapped microbes to reproduce, causing high quantities
to be released back into the room
- Quiet and
powerful fan low sound, even on the high setting. Effectively circulates ions throughout an entire room (up to 500
